Hayate no Gotoku!! OVA Atsu ga natsui ze Mizugi-han! (ハヤテのごとく！！ OVA アツがナツいぜ 水着編!, Hayate no Gotoku!! OVA Atsu ga natsui ze Mizugi-han!^?) (Translated as Hayate The Combat Butler!! OVA - Tis the Hot Summer Swimsuit Edition!) is the OVA of Hayate no Gotoku! which was released in the period of the 2nd Season. This also counts as Episode 0 of the 2nd season.

Synopsis

Taking place after TV Series, Hayate surprises about how wonderful of the private beach in Sanzenin Mansion. But he feels shocked after he knows the cost of this place. Hayate invites Nagi to swimming with him, but Nagi said that human can't float in the water and refuse. Maria tells him the true reason that Nagi can't swim. Hayate then tells Nagi that he will teach her how to swim. Nagi accepted at first. But after Hayate tells her to change into swimsuit, Nagi refuses because she feels embarrassing to show Hayate in her swimsuit and think that it is too fast for them to see each other in swimsuit.

Try to make Nagi join in the fun, Maria invited Yukiji, The Hakuou Three Amiga, Sakuya, Isumi, Wataru and Saki to the private beach inside the Sanzenin estate. Maria also asks Hayate to wear cute girl swimmsuit, but he refuse. Everyone having fun at the beach by playing water slides and sunbathing. Hayate sees that Yukiji also ask Shiori to come to the beach as well. They end up have a drink with Sister who just passing-through. This make Nagi jealous and read the magazine upside down. Hayate tries to persuade Nagi one more time. Nagi still refuses. Maria come to invite Hayate. He refuses to go because he concern about Nagi, but she says that it ok for her to stays alone. Hayate then goes to swim with everybody.

In front of Sanzenin Mansion, Hinagiku comes to pick her sister up before she makes any trouble and met Ayumu who come to asks Hayate to go on a date with her. At the beach, Everyone goes to play volley ball, Maria ask Hayate to check on Nagi again believing she has given up and wants to join. While searching, He accidentally sees Aika and Chiharu started to change. Escape from that situation, Hayate end up seeing Hinagiku while changing. He apologizes and escapes again. He found Ayumu while she assume the role of him at the other room. Hayate finally found Nagi who change her mind and ready to go into the open water, she finds out that Hayate is being spied on by other women. She feels angry and run away from him.

Hayate, Hinagiku, and Ayumu find the Nagi. They found out that some wind blow up and stripping those of their swimsuits. Hayate sees at the sky and found out that the cause is Nagi who got possessed by an evil spirit who hate the beach. Sakuya tries to find Isumi for help but Isumi got lost again. Hayate jumps to rescue her. He tells Nagi that he's sorry for what happend, please come back to him. This make Nagi back to consciousness and the evil spirit can no longer possessed Nagi. Both of them fall in to the sea and got hit by the waves. The evil spirit tried to attack more but end up losing to Isumi who come back just in time.

Nagi wake up and found out that her and Hayate stranded on the island. Hayate still unconscious, So Nagi tries to give Hayate a CPR but he wakes up and embarrasses her just before she kissing him. At sunset, they wonder what’s going happen to them left stranded until they find Maria and everyone else there, Hayate realizes just how big the Sanzenin estate is.

Trivia

• Although this OVA count as Episode 0, The story taking place after the TV Series because of the appearance of Masamune and Sonia Shaflnarz.
• Nagi play the portable game very similar to Sony's PSP.
• While in the room, Nagi read Shounen Sunday, the magazine the manga Hayate no Gotoku! is serialized in. The volume she read also has Hayate no Gotoku! as cover.
• Klaus approaching scene is the parody of Evangelion Units from Neon Genesis Evangelion.
