Hayate no Gotoku! Episode 7, title name as Man's Fight (男の戦い Otoko no Tatakai?) aired on May 13th 2007, the English Animax dub aired on June 19th 2009.

After Hayate found out that Wataru is Nagi's fiance, Nagi thought that Hayate is furious about her getting married, though Hayate is not furious at all. After an argument between Nagi and Wataru, they began to fight until Isumi woke up and Wataru is starting to have a crush on her. When they were about to eat breakfast, Wataru is angry at Hayate that he thinks Hayate is going to take Isumi away from him, so he challenges him to a sword fight outside of the mansion.

Although Nagi wants Hayate to defeat Wataru just because he is strong, Hayate has a plan to make Wataru and Isumi fall in love. Hayate decides to lose on purpose against Wataru, though it backfires when Isumi thinks that Hayate was so kind to lose on purpose, and then Wataru starts crying and ran away. Back inside the mansion, Hayate felt sorry for Wataru and wants to apologize to him for what happened earlier that day. He was about to go to Wataru's building in the middle of the city, so Nagi decides that she, Hayate, and Isumi are going to the subway. Just then, Isumi left already and gets lost again, so Hayate and Nagi are going alone together to the subway, only to find out that it's actually a construction site underground. Afterwards, they were being chased by rats, until Isumi somehow saves them.

Back in the mansion again, Sakuya wants Isumi to go to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil with a passport. Meanwhile, Nagi wants Hayate to deliver that bag to Wataru. After Hayate is in the city, he met Saki again and she leads the way to Wataru's video store, where she and Wataru works there. Hayate gave the bag to Wataru and inside the bag, there were videos that Wataru lended to Nagi. As Hayate apologizes to Wataru, he wants to become a member of the video store, until Wataru finds out that he already was registered. Hayate found out that it was his father, Shun Ayasaki, who did not returned the videos he rented it, and then he was depressed that he should pay the money for the video rent, even after he returned to the mansion. This episode ends when Isumi was about to go to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

  • When Hayate commented on how fiancées get along, as Nagi argued with Wataru and threw items, a blonde doll heavily resembling Orumuzuto Nadja from Kenjiro Hata's previous work God's Rocket Punch! is seen among the items being thrown.
  • Before his sword fight with Wataru, Hayate imagines Wataru and himself as Inuyasha and Sesshōmaru from the series InuYasha.
    • Additionally, during this segment, Wataru yells Ka** no Kizu. This is a reference to InuYasha's attack Kaze no Kizu.
  • As the Sanzenin SP where searching the underground subway, one Sanzenin SP member notices a large mech and yells: that's Gri****!. This is a reference to the type J-9 Griffon from the series Patlabor.
  • After Wataru had told Hayate that in his store there were super rare pieces of software that don't make it into the market, Hayate asks him about a DVD which Wataru tells him is Tengen T-. This is a reference to the anime series Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
  • After Wataru had mentioned that he would one day become more wealthy than Nagi, DVD titles heavily resembling InuYasha and Law of Ueki can be seen behind Hayate.
  • During the preview for the next episode, Hayate uses the line "I’ll serve the Earth’s future~nyan". This is a parody of the line "For the Earth's Future I'll be of Service! Nya~!" used by Ichigo Momomiya in the series Tokyo Mew Mew.
